So. After nights of endless emailing to Mr. Bill-With-No-Last-Name of Adventures411 and Mr. Jay Carlson of Mindoro Safaris, everyone’s hard work finally paid off. We’d contacted the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, the Environmental Management Bureau, and solicited the help of Senators Loren Legarda and Miguel Zubiri. And everything paid off - with heaps and heaps of returns.

Things like this do tend to restore one’s faith in the Philippine government. The next time these peddlers of cheap thrills come sniffing at our wildlife, we’ll be prepared to hurl fewmets at them. If that fails, we’ll bring out the big guns.

Life would be much fairer [and a heckuva lot more interesting] if, instead of fining big-game hunters, we just mounted their severed heads on our walls. Then again, unlike them, we’re not barbarians.

Still.. a girl can dream.
